After the success of last night's venture, which was enjoyed by both the top table and the auxiliary children's table, the proposed date for the next one is Thursday 5 November. If this is going to upset everyone's plans to burn a Catholic insurrectionist in effigy, we could move it to the 12th, but I'm assuming most bonfire parties will take place on the weekend.

If anyone fancies a change of venue for variety's sake, happy to hear suggestions.

(Sorry to Pat, Beth and Suzy that the seating was a bit messed up. I did phone to add numbers to the reservation, but I couldn't keep up with late demand. You will be given priority seating next time.)

By the way, what an interesting photo that is of the 3 people who look like they are auditioning for a remake of close encounter of the third kind, in a hillbilly sort of stylee.

That, Rob, is one of the all-time great photos. Interesting doesn't begin to do it justice.

I'll book this at the start of next week, so it would be helpful to have any more names by then.

We are planning to hold the December curry night (3/12) in Alsager, with a run (options of road or fields) starting and finishing in Alsager too. But we'll publicise that in a bit more detail after this one is out of the way. And someone will have to remind me of the name of the restaurant in Alsager.
