Shugborough post-race

Shugborough post-race

Mike Cutler has suggested The Swan Inn at Stone for a post-race drink on Wednesday. The pub on the corner of Milford Common, apart from being fairly charmless, gets really busy afterwards and you can wait ages to get served.

If people don't mind a short drive first (and it is on the way home), the Swan sounds good, with lots of guest ales for those who like that sort of thing. There does appear to be live music, but only acoustic, and only after 9.30.

The pub is just near Westbridge Park where we ran the Westbridge 5 from. To get there from the relays you would head back into Stafford up the A513, then out of Stafford on the A34 North. The right hand turn at Stone is a roundabout with a Shell garage on it. This website has a link to a map of the pub's location.

Happy to hear other suggestions, but think this looks good if no one has any objections.

I think it may have been a great physicist who deciphered this formula, but I'm a great believer in it!

Pub + beer + food = good

I'm in, the Swan sounds good.

What is certainly true is that:

pub - beer = poor business plan

You're thinking of the pre-race pub, Mike. We voted on that and agreed to forgo it.

Afterwards, on the other hand, we have a whole year to dry out before we have to run a relay again.
