North Staffs XC League

Postby KatieL on Tue Nov 03, 2009 11:34 pm

Hello!

I am going to run the Park Hall race on Saturday (7 Nov). I don't have a club vest and the website says all runners must wear a club vest/tee shirt.

Will I be able to purchase one of these on the day from somebody or do I need to pop down to the club on Thursday (as I wasn't planning on going Thursday)?

Thanks in advance.
Katie.

Katie,

jeanette Hatton look after the ladies kit.

It's probably best if you send her a PM, click on tab for members (light blue banner, top right), search by J, select Jeanette, click the PM button. You should be able to sort as you live within 2 mins of each other.

Mike Hatton also checks the forum as regularly as Charlie so will be able to let Jeanette know as well.

I usually bring some spare vests so (small to medium mens) so as long as you've got a appropriate running top/s on you could always put one of mine over the top if you don't get your own in time.

Well i have my first xcountry run behind me, i was not happy with my run but thats how it goes, what was a real pick me up was the amount of girls we have running now, Katie you did yourself proud and hope you can make the next race, Amy and Charlie on their second race did fantastic..Chantel,jeanette,Beth and Sarah brilliant as ever, i must not forget Ruthy..she is catching me up!!
The men had the usual suspects out in force, apart from Mike and those at LLandudno!!Brilliant gutsy runs as ever.
Bring on next sat...apart from Ruthy not bringing the flapjacks we have all come to expect, the after race eats were just second to none this wknd....Pat has another string to his bow..he can cook...you did cut your finger after you had baked???

Oh and thanks to Sue on disc duty and Gill for support..( Cara ran very well as did Russ) :D

It was good to see everyone this week. You're right Nicky, some good runs especially the ladies. I think I had a better run than last time but still 5 minutes and 50+ places behind 2007, so still some work to do.

I will be earlier with the tent next time.

Saturday was the usual fun afternoon of good company and cakes, just a shame we have to run up muddy hills as well!
Course was def a bit tougher than last year I think, brill to have a strong ladies team out,
even better when Carol, Gill and Sue back running and Emma and Cheryl as well. Watch out Trentham :D
Nics and I had bit of a downer on our runs but will have to go for it next Sat- early nights, no wine.
And Nick, not just me with dodgy gloves - Mike C looking pretty nu-rave with his high vis gloves :D

Evening All,
Sorry I had to 'run' last Saturday and couldn't stick around to watch the mens' race. Will be at Stafford Common for the duration this Saturday and hoping it'll be third time lucky to successfully remember where I park my car (does anyone else suffer with this problem but it takes me longer to find my car than it does to run the race - that is hard!!). Looks like it could be "welly time" tomorrow. Oh well mud glorious mud an all that. I'll probably be wallowing like a hippo after the first lap :(
Especailly after the ladies and the juniors have churned it up nicely for us!! :P

Think about us further down the field, it's even worse for us.

It's supposed to be windy so we will have to make a decision about the tent on the day. I've got a new pole for the flag though.

What great fun! :D

All credit to the course designers for letting us men do the extra 2km and the bit where we had to run through icy water and then thick mud twice each lap, river beds, nasty technical downhills... genius!

It was good to see Dan representing us in the U17, glad he chose to leave the X-box for 2 hours
Best Mens score yet and another good performance from the Ladies, have they overhauled Buxton for 5th yet?

Bring on Leek, you'll be better there Nick, more Hills
