The story on the 4x4 is they did get it out by reversing it backwards. As for pushing we were asked to keep clear, what the photo’s don’t show is that the track being sandstone was very badly cracked on the outside edge and it was possible that it could break away taking the 4x4 and anyone else down with it.
Once they got the 4x out of the way we took the bikes and went on ahead so I don’t know how they managed to get all three support vehicles up the track but they did rejoin us shortly afterwards so they must have used some Moroccan know how.
That was not the end on the vehicle problems as later that day on a long accent one 4x was nearly rolled and ended up in ditch with one front wheel sticking up in the air and smoke pouring out of the back. It reappeared later with a few bits of trim missing and looking a bit beaten up.
This trip is described by Exodus Travel as challenging and serious adventure, it certainly didn’t disappoint.
