For the first time in a few years, this race does not fall on the same weekend as the Flying Fox (it's on Sat 7th November, the Flying Fox on Sunday 1st), so it would be great to see a few Harriers at it. It's a road race, but pretty scenic by the standards of road races, climbing above and then down into Macc Forest and past the reservoirs to finish in Langley village. In terms of course profile, it's a similar proposition to the Cheadle 4 and Newcastle 7 - an easy introductory mile, then a climb (gradual at first but steadily more severe) to about halfway or just beyond, then a long, more or less uninterrupted descent.
It really is a race where if you can grit your teeth for the first half, you can just let your legs go after that. Well worth a visit.
