In light of the fact that I can't get in touch with Anthony or Pat, I'm going to leave the arrangements as they were tentatively agreed last night - I'll be at the track for a 7:30 start. If anybody knows Anthony's mobile number, can you email it to me please. He asked me to text him with the start time, but I can't find his number on the forum.

If anybody's thinking of coming along who hasn't been before, remember to bring £2.

Message Ends.

Hi Rob!
I got your text message and will see you later for a 7:30pm start.

ALL WELCOME AT THE CUMBERLAND TRACK :D

4 lap(4 X 400m) warm up

2 and 1/2 laps at speed (ie 1KM)
1 and 1/2 laps slow recovery
REPEAT ABOVE (as many times as possible at ideal 10K pace)

cool down.

Why not come down and give it a go, running at your pace. Does not matter whether it is faster or slower than ours. Last week we had the newly-laid, floodlit track to ourselves.

Fantastic training opportunity for £2.

PS Ordinary trainers are fine, no need for spikes

A great interval training session tonight (Rob, Pete, Andy G., Phil, Me)

Again we had the track to ourselves with consistent efforts by us all.

We 'foolishly' decided to finish our evening's exercise with a 100m sprint down the track, not easy after a 5mile run  5 grown men lined up waiting for the signal from Pete. Andy G unfortunately suffered from premature ejection from the blocks. :(

Result: Well done Rob, a fantastic 100m sprint. I can see this becoming a regular feature of our Weds night sessions.

It would be good to see some more faces down next week. Anyone got a javelin?

I missed a race

See you next Wednesday

Pat

P.S. the last sprint I was entered into, I came dead last.

Aw shucks, go on then. Might as well use it as my last blast before the weekend.
See you at 7.30

Cheers Mike,
Got through it okay and really enjoyed the session. After Snowdon I think I'll make it a regular thing. It was good to do something different. I'm all done now until the race, just going to fill up on carbs and chill!!!!! :D

Do we have any takers this week?
7:30 OK for all?

If not I'd go for an ideal start time between 6:30 - 7:00.

Pat,

I'll be down the track on Weds.

7:30pm means we have the track to ourselves. Last week it was very busy with the footballers warming up prior to 7:30pm.

If it does need to be earlier though that's not a problem.

I plan to come tomorrow. Ill and injured, but I can always stop and watch you all, and £2 is a lot cheaper way to not run than than flying to Dublin.

Especially if you miss your flight back...

I won't be able to make it this week chaps, I have another one of these ridiculously hilly off road races for the police tommorrow. Tommorrow's event is over N. York Moors, at Osmotherley, and its gonna be freezing!!!!!!. Gonna take precautions and run in vest and shorts!!!

Note to self... When all around you keep their heads do not lose yours!!(Ref. to my Linford Christie starts!!)

Have a good one
