Getting a freak knee injury back in June put paid to my hopes of being an individual prize winner this year - I ended up 4th in both Group E and my age group - and also to my hopes of being a Complete Runner. Despite all that, it still feels like a great honour to have been one of the 8 on the top NSRRA Men's team for the second year running.

By the way, James and Ruth both won prizes for being first in their age groups on Sunday. I gave James his prize on Tuesday night. Ruth - I can pass your prize on to you tonight if you are at Club training, otherwise will see you at the Cross Country on Saturday.

By the way, I think we need to have a big promotional splurge over the next 3 months to tell everyone else in the club about all the benefits of becoming an NSRRA member. I think that it's fantastic value for £5 a year and for anyone that likes to race fairly regularly it really does add an extra dimension. In some of the Ladies' categories it's not even necessary to do all 12 races to be a prizewinner. I may be wrong, but I think that Nicky will get a prize for finishing 2nd in her age group even though she only did 8 races, as I think that 8 is the minimum to qualify for a prize. If I'm right, congratulations Nicky - you deserve it!

I agree Martin, if you look at the club breakdown we are fourth in terms of NSRRA membership, but only 9 behind Newcastle who are first, if you don't count NSRRA itself.

Club Breakdown
NSRRA 75
Newcastle 41
Stone M Marathoners 36
Stafford Harriers 33
Trentham R.C. 33
South Cheshire 32
Staffs Moorlands 17

I think we could easily be the highest membership (and maybe have more say in what goes on) and I think that our members can only benefit from it.

The first big improvement in running comes when you join a club, the second comes when you start to race on a regular basis, after that it goes up and down and down and sometimes up again.

Let's do it, let's try and encourage lots of our members to join NSRRA and to enter the Alsager 5 as their first NSRRA race.
